As I ride through the back country roads of the Carolinas I often pass dogs. Sometimes they are penned up or chained up, but occasionally they are just running loose. Some dogs just watch as I pass by, others bark, and some chase me. This is kind of scary. I've developed a dog defense system to protect myself. Here it is:
1) Ride as fast as I can and try to get away.
2) Assert my dominance through yelling "NO" at the dog.
1 and 2 may be contradictory, but so far it's worked every time.
3) Squirt the dog in the face with my water bottle.
4) Hit the dog with my bike pump.
